Overview:

We are currently recruiting a Process Development Technologist for a well established food manufacturer based in Wiltshire. The role is a currently based on a fixed-term contract for 6 months working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

The Role:

We are looking for an experienced Process Development Technologist to work closely with our product development and operational teams to support the delivery of food improvement and innovation projects.

The successful candidate will support at various stages of the product development process. However their primary focus will be on ensuring the successful transition of new and improved food products from the kitchen, through the production trials and scale up process and on to full scale production and launch.

They will be responsible for managing and supporting production trials to ensure new recipes and methods are fit for purpose; enabling efficient manufacturing, optimising production capabilities, meeting the agreed specification and quality standards, and delivering the highest levels of consistency.

You will work closely with our Senior Project Manager, chefs and product development technologists to advise on process implications and considerations throughout the development process.

The successful candidate will be able to illustrate a proven track record of successfully managing and delivering process development.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, organise and manage factory trials ensuring all results and outcomes are fully documented and evidenced.
• Proactively identify and deliver solutions to processing challenges identified through the trials and scale up process.
• Provide guidance, training and advice to support the introduction and manufacture of new and improved products.
• Proactively develop product and process solutions to support continuous food improvement .
• Ensure all project documentation is accurate and communicated effectively.
• Work collaboratively with teams across the business to ensure the effective introduction and transition of recipes from existing processes to new.
• Manage process development projects to meet agreed objectives and expectations.
• Provide process development support on multiple projects delivering food quality improvements.

Qualifications:

Essential:

• Demonstrable track record of successfully managing process development projects through to launch
• Comprehensive understanding of the food development process
• Experience of working with cross functional teams to achieve demonstrably successful project outcomes
• Experience with food manufacturing
• Excellent 'hands-on' track record of introducing / translating new products into full scale production
